Oh so sweet! New parents are such a delight to talk to when they come to our studio. They have embarked on a new journey when they bring children into the world. I always love talking with them to see how they are doing, how they are adjusting, and so on. Going from a couple to a family can be amusing. I know it was for me and my husband when we started our family years ago! It's a wonderful time of your life, with challenges and all. This couple were very relaxed, but even so, a veteran mom, nurse, now photog can't help but offer a few words from the wise (or not so wise haha) to new parents, and as always we wish them many years of blessings with their newest family member.
This little miss was such a doll! Being very new she was very sleepy, and we got some great pictures of her. We had a great time with her and her mom and dad.

Simply put, Jessica and Montrell are just the sweetest people, and I am so happy that they picked us to photograph their wedding day. Jessica is a very good friend of my sister, Allison, who was married last year in NC at the beach. It was there that Jessica asked us if we would photograph her wedding which was just a little over a year later. Through the months I have had the pleasure of getting to know Jess a little better, and can see why my sister thinks so much of her. I couldn't wait to meet Montrell on their wedding weekend; this guy that had captivated her heart.
Throughout the weekend, and the day of their wedding I got a glimpse of who Montrell is. I learned that he is well thought of by his family and friends, and holds the love and respect of all who were there. I saw a bit of his sense of humor, and fun loving side. I also learned that he's the kind of guy that will "have your back", someone who will be there for you. He also has an infectious smile. No wonder Jess fell in love with this guy!
It was a fun filled weekend spent with family and friends. Their wedding day was gorgeous, the ceremony was beautiful, and the reception was a blast! We (Dave and I) had a great time, along with my sister Anna of Anna Lester Photographer https://www.facebook.com/AnnaLesterPhotographer photographing their very special wedding day.
Jessica and Montrell, we wish you many, many years of blessings and happiness as you spend your life together! Thank you for letting us be a part of your wedding day!
And now for some highlights of your wedding!

This sweet little baby girl was so much fun to photograph! Being just a few days old she was very, very sleepy, and sometimes even smiley. It is nice to think that baby dreams must be the sweetest. We had a wonderful time with this little newborn and her family.

This is a question that I hear a lot from parents to be or new parents. Newborn photography is fun, and the portraits that we can get are just gorgeous and unique.
I have a lot of inquires regarding those sweet sleepy baby pictures, and the cute props that we have in our studio. Newborns are very sleepy normally within the first ten days of being born. They are still able to curl up pretty well as they are use to being all curled up in the womb. So while babies are cute to photograph at any stage, if you want to get those cute sleepy pictures, and use some of the props we offer it is best to photograph newborns within this timeframe.
Another good reason to get your baby's portraits done within the first ten days of birth is that they change so much and so quickly! You will be amazed at how fast your baby grows within the first year of his or her life. The newness of your precious baby doesn't last very long, and getting a newborn portrait made is a great way to remember just how they were when they were first born.
Email us for more information on our newborn portrait sessions or schedule an appointment to come by our studio and see what we have to offer for your baby's portrait session!

After having quite a few newborn baby girls show up at our photography studio we finally had a little boy come by! he is just the cutest little guy! This sweet little guy was absolutely great for his very first professional baby portrait session. I enjoyed talking with his mom as we were taking pictures, and toward the end of the session these pictures were taken. I think I am safe in saying that these were all of our favorites right away!
He sure is a cutie and I wish is mom and dad many fun years watching their little son grow and experiencing little boy adventures with him. This day he was a Cowboy!

Recently Dave and I had fun getting to know Bob and his parents. It was a great day for his senior portrait session as we listened to him tell us some of his experiences in high school as we walked around his high school campus. John Champe High School in Aldie Virginia, Loudoun County, Virginia is a fairly new school and what a campus! I can see why Bob enjoyed his time spent here at this school!
We learned that Bob was a member of his school's football team, that he just recently earned his Eagle Scout, that he's learning to play the guitar (yes!), and he has the coolest car ever! I wished I could have had a car like that when I was a teenager!
Bob, if you see this post, we would like to say again that we wish you the best for your future! I bet you are going to do some great things! Enjoy your years at college and study hard! I am sure you will. It was our pleasure getting to know you a bit, and your parents too!

How cute is this little sweet pea! Baby E visited my portrait studio not too long ago, and did we have fun! She was just as sweet as she could be, and so was her mom and grandmother. After sorting through the different outfits and props that we offer in our newborn photography studio we got some of the cutest pictures EVER of this sweet little girl!

Mommy wanted a generational picture of baby, mom, and grandmom! How sweet her expression is here as she responds sleepily to her mother's voice. Love it!

Newborns tend to be very sleepy in their first few days of life, and this little one was no exception! I think we even tried to get her to wake up for some awake pictures, but little missy just wanted to sleep. This does work out great though, as we were able to get all the fun pictures that we desired. For those cute little curled up sleepy newborn pictures it is best to photograph in the first few days of birth.

This is one of my favorite props that we offer in our studio.

What a fun party! Madison and Robert are expecting their second baby this summer, and to celebrate they decided to have a Gender Reveal Baby-Q Party. Family and friends came to celebrate, and find out: is it a girl or is it a boy! Guests were supposed to wear what they thought it would be. There was a lot of laughter and fellowship in the evening, all leading up to the moment when they would cut the cake to find out is it a he or a she.....

This little guy is going to be a great big brother!

Finding out was just as much a surprise for the parents to be as they slowly cut into the cake. The pictures say it all.

It is going to be a little Oliver! Can you tell the dad is a little excited? ;). Congrats to my sweet niece and her husband, Robert. We can't wait to meet little Oliver.

Sharing the good news in today's world!

I enjoy a lot of different genres of photography, but I will have to confess that the newborn baby photography is my favorite. I have always enjoyed being around newborns, and maybe that comes from being the oldest of seven in my own family, or maybe it comes from my previous career as an OB/GYN nurse, or maybe it's the two together. Regardless, newborns are just special. There is something sweet about a new innocent life, ready to make his or her mark on the world. I always tell the parents of these newborns that I have the privilege of photographing to enjoy every moment, because the time goes by fast. It surely does.
This little sweet pea was such fun to photograph, and at times she would just look at us with a wonderment in her eyes. Maybe it was the studio lights!....kidding....or maybe it was! haha!! Anyway, we had such a great time photographing this sweet little newborn girl.

If you are interested in our newborn photography for your family or friends get in touch with us on our contact page today! We will be happy to send you some information, and answer any questions.
Not too long ago I had the privilege of photographing these sweet newborn girls. Early on, before they were born I had been talking with their mom throughout her pregnancy. She is a trooper as she had to endure most of her pregnancy on bed rest to insure that these sweet girls would arrive healthy and safe! I was elated when she shared the news with me that they had been born healthy and perfect!
We had the best time spending the day with this little family photographing these sweet twin girls. It is such a joy to talk with new parents, and to observe them doting over their newborn babies. We even manage to get some great newborn portraits for them along the way.
Over the next few months you will be seeing these little beauties as they grow in their first year, and will be photographed every few months with our baby plan! I am so excited about this, and it is going to be fun to watch them grow! I can't wait to see their first smiles, first little teeth, and so on! Babies can be a lot of work as we all know, but it sure is worth every second, and as I keep telling their mom, time is going to fly, and probably doubly fast for her!

A new little family.

I thought this was such a sweet, sweet moment, and am so glad that I was able to get it for her!
