This past fall we traveled to Michigan to photograph one of my husband's dear high school friend's wedding. You may have seen the blog about their wedding. Dave has a few friends that still live in Michigan. They all grew up together through their high school years. We have been able to stay in touch with some of those friends through the years.
While there we visited with Cindy and Mark. Thanks guys for such a fantastic evening! The food, your sons, the firepit, and your friends were awesome. But even more was our time spent with you! I think we all should make a pact to live in the same retirement community one day. On second thought, they may throw us all out for misbehaving! ;) I wished we would have had more time to visit, and I hope that you can come and see us sometime!
We also took some time to get family pictures for them. The backdrop was their very own property of their home. Now, I like that idea. Years ago for our daughter's senior pictures we had her photographed here at our home, and around in the yard for part of the session. To this day they are some of my dearest photos of her. It brings me back to that day, and makes it even more special because they were taken at our home. I hope that Cindy and Mark will feel the same way about their portraits as they look at them and think on them through the years....to know that they were taken at their home.

We captured some very sweet newborn portraits of this little girl just in time for Christmas! Even though it is chilly outside, it's nice and toasty warm for our newborn clients in our very comfortable home studio. We had a wonderful time getting some holiday baby portraits as well as some in her special clothes that belonged to her big sister, and handmade by her grandmother!

A little over a year ago we had the privilege of second shooting for, Kristen Lynne Photography, who is a very talented and upcoming wedding photographer in the NOVA area. She is a dedicated and hard working photographer, providing a fabulous upscale experience for her clients, paying attention to the finest of details to ensure that you have the most fabulous pictures of your wedding day.
I am primarily a newborn photographer, but on occasion we do photograph weddings or second shoot for others. Second shooting is a lot of fun!
This wedding took us to the National Cathedral! Wow! What a gorgeous cathedral in our nation's Capitol. It was a beautiful day to get married. Dave and I hung out with the guys before the wedding, collecting memories for the couple to look back on later. Eventually we all ended up at the cathedral to photograph one of the most exquisite weddings yet!
Rudy and Megan we wish you many years of blessings in your marriage. Thank you, Kristen, Rudy, and Megan for letting us share in this most special day!

Amber and Cody along with their little boy, Colton are the cutest little family. I have been photographing Colton since he was a newborn. Since then I have had the opportunity to photograph this family a few times, and doing so I get to know them a little better each time. It's nice to be able to see their little boy grow, and hear of the plans for their futures.
Developing a friendship is one of the benefits of having repeat clients, and that is important to me. I certainly appreciate that they come back to let me photograph their family, and I hold with appreciation the friendships that come from these times.
I look forward to future sessions with these families, and continue to watch their children grow, and hear of their life stories as they go along the journey!

If two babies had ever been wanted it is these two! I am so very happy for Brittany and Ray, and when we arrived to photograph their sweet newborn twins you could tell that they were just over the moon with these sweet little children! Who cares if they were sleep deprived already! You would never know it because they were so enamored with these babies. Adjusting to being a first time parent to one baby can be a challenge, and when you add another, well that's a lot of labor of love!
These two babies, Antonio and Sofia were just the cutest things ever! They were so sweet, and did so well for their very first official portrait session! Mom made sure that her babies were well fed and warm, and we began our work (fun) of photographing them. We certainly enjoyed our time with them, and look forward to watching them grow!

Colton's Flying Session portraits were so much fun! Our studio offers Styled Children's Photography where your child can "play out a fantasy" while we take the pictures. We have lots of different themes to choose from, or you can bring your own ideas to us and we will plan around it.'
This little guy enjoyed "flying" his airplane, and was completely immersed in playing, making the photo session for him a lot of fun.
Check out our future blog post on the different themes that we currently offer.

Time is flying by! We have been photographing this little miss since she was a newborn. We are well under way to her 12 month photo session, but in this one she is six months old. By six months most babies are sitting up, and very interactive with those around them. They are all smiles, and sometimes they have a new tooth to show off. Six months is a great milestone to have your baby photographed.
This little gal turned six months just in time for the Christmas season, so we had extra special fun getting her winter pictures!

Darryl and Roz were a blast! What can I say! We had so much fun photographing these two. It was a perfect fall day with two fun filled people. Their photos are great! I love them! We love to capture emotional connection between couples, and families. It can be a bit intimidating to get your portrait made; I should know because I am not that comfy in front of camera myself! We try to make people feel at ease, and have fun with their session, because when they do we get fantastic results. Darryl tells me that I was sneaky.....I say that's my job! ;)

With their wedding day only a short nine months away, I know that Stephanie and Tony are very excited and busy planning for their special day. This past fall we had a great time at Crockett Park in Warrenton, Virginia capturing portraits for their Engagement Session. These are two sweet people, and we are looking forward to photographing their wedding! Stephanie is a "attention to details" kind of gal, and she has been sharing with me some of her ideas for the theme or look for her wedding, and all I can say is that it is going to be GORGEOUS!
I am not going to give away any of her secrets, so you will just have to check back in a few months and check out their wedding day pictures! For now, here are some of the highlights from their Engagement Session here in Warrenton Virginia!

Pregnancy is a very special time in the life of a woman and those that she loves. I love it when these women want to be photographed along with their family members. Jamie was about seven months along when we took her Maternity Portraits. She was just glowing. We started outside with some family pictures, and then went to the studio for some portraits of mama. The family pictures are sweet, and the mama pictures are stunning!
Today we will be meeting the newest member of their family!
